Mock Meet 5/7 Info
Mock Meet May 7, 2022
We wanted to share a little bit of information about our Mock Meet that will be this Saturday (tomorrow). This email may be kind of long, but I promise it will have good information. The mock meet is a perfect time to learn how the meets work and to figure out any bugs we need to work out before our first official meet. This meet also gives the swimmer seed times for future meets.
Please refer back to the Parent Packet and Covid Guidelines or find a board member if you are unsure or have questions. Thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation.
Friday During Practice:
- We will set up for the meet while the kids practice. We will need as much help as possible (especially from our dads who are better able to lift heavy items). New parents - there will be several parents and board members to help you know what needs to be done.
- Anyone wanting to volunteer at the meet will need to text Savannah at 702-275-0847 or find her during setup (1st practice).
- Parents of 6 and under kids, please talk to the coaches to find out if your swimmer is ready to swim in Saturday's meet.
- If you have not joined our text notifications group, please do so by texting @sealions2 to 81010. Notifications about the meet, weather delays, etc will be sent through this method.
Saturday:
- Check in is at 7:00 am. (Entrance Gate open at 6:45)
- Swimmers 10 & Under need to have their name written on their right shoulder before check in. Volunteers will write their event number on their arms.
- Parent Volunteers should check in with Savannah at this time.
- Warm ups will begin at 7:30. All swimmers should participate in warm ups.
- Swimmers will need to listen for their event number to be called so they know when to go to the ready bench. (there is also a flip chart with these numbers near the ready bench).
- Concessions will NOT be open, so be sure to bring your own snacks as well. Swimmers need lots of water and snacks. :)
- Only swimmers and specific volunteers will be allowed in the swimmers line up area.
- There will be certain areas flagged off. These are officials only areas. Please do not walk under the flags to walk through the area.
- No one is allowed in the baby pool or restricted (flagged off) areas.
- No pets of any kind.
What to bring to the meet:
- Swimsuit, goggles (it's always a good idea to have a backup pair), swim cap (optional), towels
- Sunscreen - reapply often
- Waters - stay hydrated
- Lawn chairs and Canopies - Grass area ONLY - NO setup around the pool.
- Snacks
- Swimmers Ear (use this after every practice and meet)
I hope I'm not forgetting anything. Saturday will be great fun!!! If you have any questions, please contact me at [email protected] or ask a board member tonight.
Go Sea Lions,
Suzonna
